Synopsis

Freddie’s Piano is a young adult film about two half-brothers Aden and Freddie. Aden, 22, is good with machines. He is meant to go to technical school that year, and then move to Paris with his friend Roshan, like most young boys dream of doing in Pondicherry. Meanwhile he works as a waiter in a local café. But unfortunately, his parents die in an accident. Aden now has to put aside his own dreams and look after his half-brother, Freddie, 12, a gifted pianist like his mother. Despite being sincere, Aden can barely manage work, bills, kitchen, and Freddie’s school routine. Freddie has stopped playing after their parents’ death. He also realizes that he might be a burden on Aden. He decides if he goes off to live with his grandmother in Chennai, Aden will be free to live his dreams. Aden assumes the reason for that is to do with his grandmother being able to afford getting Freddie a piano which he can’t. He decides that come what may he will get a piano for Freddie this Christmas. All this at the point where he can barely afford paying for Freddie’s bus fees. Freddie’s Piano is a simple film about what Aden does to get his younger brother Freddie a grand piano for Christmas.
